Wolf Point Prepares For Start Of Football Season
With several returning starters back for this football season, the Wolf Point Wolves are looking forward to contending for a playoff berth this year.
Offensive starters back for the Wolves include offensive linemen Richard Campbell, Zandon Calder, Dustin Oleyte and Gabe Keiser, Mike Bell at H back and wide receivers Sam Boysun, Brady Fourbear and Jacob White.
Defensive starters returning are Sean Hamilton and Kasey Reed at linebacker, defensive back Seth Landsrud and linemen Bell and Jesse Reed.
“The strength of our team will be our run game and offensive line play,” Coach Anthony Red Cloud said.
Assistant coaches are Scott Montgomery, Ronnie Chavez, Scott Vandall and Keyvin Brock.
“Areas of work are creating big plays, faster team defense and becoming less penalized,” Red Cloud said.
Wolf Point’s goals include being in contention for a playoff position.
“To achieve these goals, the players need to play together, play fast, hard and tenacious,” Red Cloud said. “They need to have relentless discipline.”
He feels Malta and Glasgow are the conference favorites heading into the season.
The Wolves will open their season at home against Joliet on Friday, Aug. 30.
