Senior Profile Bell Shows Different Look As Senior
Wolf Point High School senior Mike Bell says he is a different person than he was a year ago.
In the fall of 2023, Bell was weighing about 210 pounds and doing his best while playing quarterback for Wolf Point’s football team due to an injury of another player. After a summer of lifting weights, Bell now weighs 265 pounds and plays noseguard and H-back for the Wolves.
“I’m feeling good. I’m as fast,” Bell said.
He is thankful for the change of positions for the school’s football squad.
“The body couldn’t do another year at quarterback. There were a lot of hits,” Bell laughed. “Now, I can help where I need to and help the team more.”
He enjoys playing football and even hopes to continue with the sport at the collegiate level.
“I like the brotherhood plus the competitiveness,” Bell explained.
After playing basketball during his first two years of high school, Bell switched over to wrestling as a junior. His experience included wrestling at the AAU level.
“I’m a little more built for it,” Bell said of his body type.
The result was placing fifth at the Class B state meet for 205-pounders.
He will wrestle in the heavyweight division this upcoming season and his goal is to win a state championship.
He competed in the shot put and discus last track season.
Bell holds a 3.3 grade point average, and his grades have constantly improved since a rough freshman year. His favorite class is weightlifting and his favorite teacher is Anthony Red Cloud.
Bell plans to study sports medicine when he attends college.
