Go Getters Sees Fine Weather, Large Turnout

The 58th Go-Getters Youth Rodeo was held at the Go-Getters Arena south of Wolf Point Sept. 8. Organizer Stephanie Hansen told the Northern Plains Independent

that attendance was up for the event.

She said there were a total of 65 competitors this year, with six entrants dropping out due to illness. She said her favorite part of the rodeo was all the smiles on young peoples’ faces. “I just love it,” Hansen said. “It definitely makes it worthwhile.”

The winner of the Princess Contest was Dani Jo Nyquist, with Taylor Arneson winning the Queen Contest. First place in the sheep competition went to Krew Plouffe, with Archer Higgins in second, followed by Parker Stensland and Thea Crowley.

Age 8 and under girls’ all around went to Tillie Dempewolf, followed by Kora McGowan. Chance Arneson and Colt Knaff took first and second place, respectively, for the boys.

For 9-13 girls’ all around, first place went to Paityn Kirn and second went to Kashli Dempewolf. Dempsey Dempewolf won the 9-13 all around boys’ category.

In 14-18 girls’ all around, first went to Tally Berwick and second went to Kenzie LaBrie. Dace Dempewolf took first for the boys, followed by Jayden Murnion.
