Poplar Claims Team Titles At Home Meet Poplar Claims Team Titles At Home Meet

Poplar came away with top honors in both the boys’ and girls’ standings at the Poplar Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 7.

The Indians earned first place in the boys’ division with 28 points. Scobey was a close second with 39 points and Dodson was third with 56 points.

Poplar’s Eljin Grey Bear led the Indians with a third-place showing at 19:30.4. Dodson’s Donovan Posey, a junior, was the overall winner with a time of 18:46.5.

Poplar’s Wilder Bearcub placed seventh at 20:24.2. Navarjo Escarcega was also in the top 10 with an eighthplace showing at 20:35.5.

Stephen Smoker took 10th at 20:48.7.

Bostyn Azure ran the course in 21:47.8 for 15th place. Trentin Youpee took 24th at 23:19.9.

Raylando Red Eagle placed 28th with a time of 24:09.0. Mickey Failing was 33rd at 25:03.3.

Colton Dupree took 36th at 25:29.7. Ezekial Gourneau was 43rd at 27:54.1. Dustin Smith took 47th at 33:53.2.

Poplar’s girls captured first place with 27 points. Scobey was second with 40 and Brockton took third with 58 points.

Poplar’s eighth-grader Journey Gourneau finished second with a time of 21:49.2. Whitewater’s Shelbi Labrie was the overall winner at 21:31.4.

Poplar’s Kellyn Azure placed seventh at 24:55.5.

Amelia Weeks earned eighth place at 25:24.3. Alara Cooper was ninth at 25:49.1.

Kelbee Redstone finished in 23rd place at 27:56.1. Harley Daniels was 29th at 31:26.6.

Kali Colgan ran the course in 32:12.9 for 33rd place.

The Indians will compete at the Scobey Invitational on Friday, Sept. 13.
