Recognize Constitution Week September 16-23
Celebrate Constitution Week with the Milk River Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. Sept. 16-23 is Constitution Week this year. Constitution Day is Tuesday, Sept. 17.
President Dwight D. Eisenhower officially enacted Constitution Day on Aug. 2, 1956. A congressional resolution was petitioned by The Daughters of the American Revolution.
The purpose of Constitution Week is to: • Emphasize citizens’ responsibilities for protecting and defending the Constitution.
• Inform people that the Constitution is the basis for America’s great heritage and the foundation for our way of life.
• Encourage the study of the historical events which led to the framing of the Constitution in September 1787.
