Trustees Approve School Budgets
The Wolf Point School Board adopted budgets for both the high school and elementary school districts during a meeting in August.
The high school’s overall budget is $4,234,994.26. Parts of the budget include $2,339,858.53 for the general budget, $644,327.55 for bus depreciation reserve, $400,000 for retirement and $315,731.20 for building reserve.
The elementary district’s overall budget is $5,359,846.35. Segments of the budget includes $3,569,508.52 for the general budget, $710,000 for retirement, $430,582.47 for bus depreciation and $378,230.36 for building reserve.
Wolf Point Superintendent of Schools David Perkins noted that the elementary district’s mill levies are 68.06 this year compared to 89.66 in 2021. He said that decrease continues to bring in less money.
During the public comment portion of the meeting, Title VI chair Imogene Lilley discussed the importance of having a home school coordinator for the high school and junior high school. She said such coordinators are available at Northside and Southside.
Lilley said a person has indicated interest in the position, but the person was told that the job wasn’t being advertised.
Board chair Roxanne Gourneau said both that person and school resource officer will be advertised.
