Board Holds Special Meeting For Bus Purchase

The Culbertson School Board met in special session on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 7:02 a.m. Trustees present were Ian Walker (chair), Wendy Becker, Amber Fox and Lisa Steppler. District representatives were Nicole Simonsen and Lora Finnicum.

Simonsen reviewed the parameters for financing and purchasing a cruiser-style bus. Becker made motion to approve the resolution for a finance contract with Government Capital to purchase from Davey Coach a 2015 Setra bus in the amount of $225,000. Fox seconded motion, pending Davey Coach provide inspection and try to get graphics installed prior to delivery. The motion carried unanimously.

A motion was approved for the disposition of the purple cruiser “as is” with the right to refuse any and all bids. Becker amended the motion to publish in the newspaper for 14 days and sealed bids with minimum bid of $15,000. Ryan Acson was approved for half-time kitchen, halftime custodian, pending paperwork.

Walker adjourned the meeting at 7:25 a.m.
