Bulldogs Win Second Straight With Big Victory Over Fusion
Bainville improved its record to 2-1 for the football season by cruising to a 53-12 home win over Richey/Lambert on Saturday, Sept. 14.
A low-scoring first quarter ended with the Bulldogs ahead by a 7-6 margin. Bainville’s touchdown came on an 18-yard pass from Rowan Wilson to Keagan Vaira. Wilson connected with Trevor Robertus on the conversion.
The Bulldogs gained a 21-6 half-time advantage. Bainville’s first touchdown of the second period was scored by Vaira off a three-yard pass from Wilson. The next touchdown came on a nine-yard throw from Wilson to Robertus. Catching passes for conversions were Haedyn Wills and Parker Berwick.
Bainville pulled away to earn a 47-12 lead during third quarter action.
The first touchdown of the second half was scored by Berwick on a short pass from Wilson. Kaiden Holmes caught a pass from Wilson for the conversion.
Wilson connected with Berwick with the next touchdown on an 11-yard pass. Wilson passed to Kyn Beery for the conversion and a 35-12 advantage.
After a fumble recovery by Wills, Wilson hit Isaiah Bjorge with a 22-yard touchdown pass. Holmes then intercepted a pass to put the Bulldogs in scoring position again. Wilson passed to Holmes for a four-yard touchdown and Robertus for the conversion to put the margin at 47-12.
Bainville’s only touchdown of the fourth quarter came on a 46-yard run by Bjorge.
Defensive leaders for the Bulldogs included Robertus with 10 tackles, Bjorge with seven tackles and Wilson with seven tackles.
The Bulldogs will host Terry on Saturday, Sept. 21, for their homecoming game.
