Poplar Man Arrested On Murder Warrant
The Fort Peck Tribal Police and U.S. Marshals have arrested Courtney Cantrell of Poplar on a Fort Peck Tribes’ extradition warrant.
Cantrell, 35, has a second degree murder warrant out of New Orleans, La.
According to media reports, Cantrell was identified on Aug. 26 as a “person of interest” that homicide detectives were seeking to interview. Officials said Cantrell could have information pertinent to the death of 44-year-old Patricia Fitzgerald. Her beaten and strangled body was discovered beneath the Governor Nicholls Street Wharf on Aug. 19.
