Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 100 calls from Sept. 9-16.

The calls included the following: Sept. 9

Deputies responded to a report from a male who said he was pushed by his girlfriend. The female was arrested and taken to the Roosevelt County jail.

One Roosevelt County deputy and five Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice officers responded to Poplar for a report of an adult male hitting people with a baseball bat. The male headed down by the railroad tracks, south of town, but he couldn’t be located.

Deputies responded to Fort Kipp for a report of two sisters fighting. No one was found at the residence.

Sept. 10

A stolen vehicle was reported in Bainville. The adult male said he saw the vehicle leaving his property. He didn’t wish to file charges. Later, he called to say that he located the vehicle.

Deputies took part in a mutual aid call in Poplar. The Montana Highway Patrol said a woman was walking in the middle of the road during a crash scene investigation. The woman said she was walking because she got into a fight with her mother. FPTDLJ took over the investigation.

Sept. 11

Deputies responded to Poplar regarding a male laying on the ground and in need of medical attention. The male was assisted into an ambulance.

Sept. 12

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ of a report in Wolf Point regarding a male and female fighting. The male claimed the female had threw a hammer and tree branch at him. Neither item hit the male. Misty Strikes Many, 20, was arrested for disorderly conduct and taken to tribal jail.

Deputies responded to a park in Culbertson where it was reported that a male was yelling and waving a handgun. Officers located one male in the area, but he didn’t have a handgun. No arrests were made.

Sept. 14

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ after a report of a missing 4-year-old boy in Poplar. The boy was found safe and returned to family members.

Deputies responded to the Stagecoach in Culbertson for a report of a suspected warrant violation. A traffic stop was made. John David Panasuk, 40, was arrested on authority of a warrant.

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ with a domestic dispute in Poplar. The male and female were separated for the night.

Sept. 15

Deputies assisted the Williston N.D. Police Department regarding a man who allegedly took a large sum of money from a bank account. Deputies stopped the vehicle and advised the male to talk with North Dakota authorities.

Sept. 15

Deputies responded to Culbertson where a female reported that an adult male was threatening her dog. The deputies provided extra patrol.

Deputies responded to Brockton and assisted FPTDLJ. A female said her boyfriend was following her. A report was taken.

Sept. 16

Deputies responded to the Culbertson hospital for a Child and Family Services’ report. Deputies notified the Fort Peck Tribes’ criminal investigators.
