Horse Therapy

Nakoda Dakota Oyate Youth Council members and friends of the organization took a seven-mile ride along U.S. Highway 2 Sept. 22 with horses provided by the Gourneau, Holen and Hunsaker families. Dustin Hunsaker told the Northern Plains Independent that the ride was enjoyable and educational. “It was a fun time,” Hunsaker said. “I don’t think any of those kids will be littering after a couple miles kicking cans on Highway 2.” Participants included Milayna Smoker-Dewitt (left to right), Amara Bates, Makenzie Jackson, Morty Manning, Hayden Manning, Joclynn Williams and Devlyn Hopkins.
