There is a deep washout on Wallstreet near the Bob Brown farm, so if you are travelling at night, be watchful for the cones. One of the neat features of rural life is an occasional cattle drive which we saw this week. The fall rains have begun, and we are thankful for any balmy weather that arrives.
The LCHS chaplain, Pastor Frank Lenihan, led a prayer walk Sunday evening, Sept 15. We were reminded to pray for Israel and its people alongside the prayer requests given by the teachers, board members and secretary, the dorm parents and coaches. Everyone began together, but split into the classrooms to pray silently at the desks where the sheets of specific requests were ready. At a set time, all gathered to hear remarks from Principal Burkhard. He announced a new program begun called “The Lions’ Pride”, where the students were divided into small groups to be discipled by the teachers in a short time segment.
Pastor Lenihan challenged the 28-30 prayer warriors “to enlarge our tents and our light, making most of every opportunity.” “Be prayerful when coming through these doors, praying for the opposing teams as well as our students to be spiritually vibrant and healthy”. “Pray for resources to come (to run the school), and make an investment of an eternal nature.” “Remember words are powerful, and you can encourage the staff in their work.”
He introduced the dorm parents, Mr. Jones and Melissa Cumpio, who had just arrived two days before.
