Red Hawks Lose Homecoming Game

 

The Froid/Lake Red Hawks couldn’t get their offense going and lost their homecoming football game against Jordan, 59-22, on Friday, Sept. 20.

Jordan led by a 39-0 halftime score and increased the margin to 47-0 when Koby Saylor returned the opening kickoff of the second half 72 yards for a touchdown.

The Red Hawks got on the scoreboard on a 21-yard pass play from Rylan Young to Jacob Martensen with 6:28 left in the third quarter. Eddie Orozco kicked the conversion.

After Jordan reached the end zone on a five-yard run by Carson Garner to end the third quarter, the Red Hawks got into scoring range on a nice pass play from Young to Teegan Fossum for a first down at the three. From there, Edie Orozco scored to close the margin to 53-14.

The Mustangs’ final touchdown came on a two-yard pass from Murnion to Caleb Burgess. The Red Hawks struck on a 39-yard dash by Carsen Kelm in the final minute. A kick by E. Orozco put the final at 59-22.

Jordan gained a 21-0 advantage in the first quarter. Scoring touchdowns were K. Saylor on two 12-yard runs and Kaleb Bollinger on a four-yard smash.

Jordan then accounted for 18 points in the second period. Reaching the end zone were K. Saylor on a six-yard dash, K. Saylor on a 34-yard pass from Jayden Saylor and K. Saylor on a four-yard run.

The Red Hawks will travel to Brockton on Saturday, Sept. 28.
