Wolf Point’s Girls Beat Glendive, Battle Poplar In Overtime
Wolf Point stopped Glendive and lost to Poplar in overtime during home girls’ flag football action on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
The Wolves defeated Glendive by a 26-0 final.
Two long runs by Jeina Reum put Wolf Point ahead 13-0 during the first quarter.
A long pass from Keeley Blount-Henderson to Adalyn Smith put the Wolves ahead 19-0 at the half.
Teagan Williams broke away for a long touchdown run to produce a 26-0 margin late in the third quarter.
The Wolves then fell to Poplar by a 13-6 margin in overtime.
With the game deadlocked at 6-6, Poplar took the lead on a four-yard run by Mattie Falls Down. Cammie Martell got in for the conversion for a 13-6 lead.
Wolf Point failed to score in overtime. The Wolves’ possession ended with two straight incomplete passes.
The Wolves accounted for the game’s first touchdown on a run by Smith.
Martell scored for Poplar in the second quarter for a 6-6 game.
The contest was played in steady rain conditions.
