Lady Wolves Post Victory During Tournament
Despite being short-handed, Wolf Point’s volleyball team posted a victory during the tournament held in New England, N.D., on Saturday, Sept. 28.
During pool play, the Wolves had a record of 0-4. Results included Belfield, N.D., 25-27, 20-25; Sidney, 8-25, 25-22; South Hart, N.D., 2125, 10-25; and New England, 16-25, 21-25. In bracket play, the Wolves earned their first match victory of the season. Wolf Point defeated Beach, N.D., 25-22, 25-20.
“We played pretty well considering with four varsity players gone. We got our first win as well, the girls were pretty excited about that,” Coach Nicole Paulson said. “We had a very young team this weekend with two juniors, two freshmen and two eighth graders.”
The Wolves then lost to Sidney, 18-25, 10-25, in the second round. Sidney went on to win the tournament.
The Wolves lost in a conference volleyball match at Glasgow on Thursday, Sept. 26. Glasgow posted a 25-16, 25-4, 25-11, victory.
The Wolves will play at Poplar on Thursday, Oct. 3, and at Malta on Saturday, Oct. 5.
