Poplar Sweeps Team Titles In Plentywood
Poplar’s girls’ cross country team earned first place with 10 points at the Plentywood meet on Saturday, Sept. 28.
Scobey was second with 24 points and Brockton took third with 27 points.
Poplar’s eighth-grader Journey Gourneau ran to first-place honors with a time of 21:30.16.
Mattie Falls Down was fourth at 22:37.85 and teammate Cammie Martell finished fifth at 23:02.86.
Amelia Weeks placed seventh at 23:45.48. Kellyn Azure earned 10th at 24:11.66.
Alara Cooper finished 12th at 24:44.04. Kelbee Redstone took 22nd at 26:27.72.
In the boys’ division, Poplar won with 10 points followed by Williston Trinity Christian with 36 and Scobey with 38 points.
Poplar’s junior Eljin Grey Bear captured top honors at 17:35.14.
Jayden Eder earned fifth place at 18:50.15. Navarjo Escarcega took sixth at 19:02.37.
Wilder Bearcub placed eighth at 19:05.39. Raylando Red Eagle finished 10th at 19:25.47.
Stephen Smoker took 20th at 20:29.80. Dustin Smith was 42nd at 30:48.42.
