Powell Places At State Horse Show
This was Emilynn Priddy Powell’s second year entering the Montana State 4-H horse show. There were approximately 75 participants and 96 horses competing in 67 different classes at the show held in Vaughn, Powell participated with TJs True Twister (aka Hank) her 14-year-old QH Paint in showmanship intermediate ages 11-13, short stirrup reining, western equitation on the rail, western horsemanship level 2, bareback equitation, English equitation on the rail, English horsemanship level 1 and intermediate trail course.
In these events, she received seventh place in short stirrup reining, bareback equitation, seventh place, English equitation level 1, sixth place, and English equitation on the rail, third place.
With her colt to maturity project, Rusty Copper Bar (aka Copper), she participated in young horse showmanship colts against 1, 2 and 3 year olds, colt to maturity/green horse 1 & 2, 2 year colt to maturity green horse level 1, colt to maturity 2& 3 year old/green horse 1& 2 trail, colt to maturity 2& 3/Green Horse 1& 2 on the rail.
She received reserve grand champion in colt to maturity 2 & 3 year old/Green horse level 1, reserve grand champion buckle for 2-yearold colt to maturity, colt to maturity 2 & 3 year olds showmanship fifth place, Trail Colt to Maturity 2& 3yo/ Green horse. 1& 2 6th place, and colt to maturity 2& 3 year olds/Green horse level 1& 2 on the rail, she received eight place.
