Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 51 calls from Sept. 23-30. The calls included the following: Sept. 24

Deputies responded to Culbertson city limits for a report of two missing bicycles that were taken from outside of a residence. Deputies patrolled the city limits and couldn’t locate the bikes. Later on, the reporting party said that he found the bikes lying in an alley.

Deputies responded to Poplar near Main Street Grocery for a report of a threat. A person said a panhandler wanted change and, when he didn’t receive any, he got angry. The panhandler was cited for making threats.

Sept. 25

Deputies received a report regarding a suspicious vehicle in the Brockton city limits. Two adults were arguing outside the vehicle. Law enforcement couldn’t locate the individuals.

Deputies received a report from a rancher in the Brockton area about disappearing corral panels. The incident is under investigation.

Deputies received a report from a dealership in Culbertson regarding the theft of batteries. A surveillance camera showed two individuals loading batteries. The incident is under investigation.

Deputies assisted Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice of a report of two females fighting at TJ’s Quik Stop in Poplar. One female claimed she was bitten. A report was made to tribal court.

Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Fire Department with traffic control during a fire in Wolf Point city limits.

Sept. 27

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ and a drug investigator with a search warrant in the Poplar area.

Deputies reported to a report of a possible drunk driver. A driver of a black SUV was driving erratically between Poplar and Wolf Point.

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ with a report of a fight in Brockton between two males. No arrests were made.

Sept. 28

Deputy/coroner assisted FPTDLJ with a report of a fire at 4:26 a.m. in Wolf Point. The state marshal later conducted an investigation. One individual died in the fire. Law enforcement is requesting the assistance from the community in reporting any missing individuals last seen that day. Call 911 or the non-emergency number, 406 653-6240.

Deputies assisted Culbertson ambulance to help a female in Fort Kipp who was feeling sick.

Sept. 29

Deputies took a report in Froid of a vehicle that was vandalized. Someone shot the vehicle with a weapon. The investigation is still active.

Deputies responded to Culbertson of a female harassing another female through text messages. The deputy contacted the suspect, and she said she will stop making the texts.

In addition, the RCSO had the following activity: Wolf Point city limits, four; Wolf Point rural, three; Wolf Point FPHA, three; Poplar city limits, four; Poplar FPHA, two; Poplar airport addition, two; Poplar rural, five; Culbertson town, eight; Culbertson rural, one; Bainville rural, six; Froid town, four; Brockton town, six; Brockton rural, one; Fort Kipp, seven, total, 56.
