Temperatures Expected To Be Higher Than Normal In Upcoming Months
The weather outlook appears to be leaning toward higher temperatures than normal for the region, according to National Weather Service meteorologists.
During the weather-ready briefing for eastern Montana and northern Wyoming last week, meteorologist Scott Rozanski of the Glasgow station said that the Glasgow area experiences higher temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees above normal during September.
For the year, Glasgow has 10.75 inches of precipitation. That is .65 inches below normal.
“Last month, we were over 1 inch below normal,” Rozanski noted.
The total inches of precipitation in Billings for the year is 10.66 inches, which is .76 inches below normal.
Forecasts for the first week of October calls for higher than normal temperatures and lower than normal precipitation.
The three-month seasonal outlook for October through December for Montana and the Dakotas calls for no clear sign for above or below temperatures or precipitation.
Drought is expected to persist until at least the end of the year.
