Area Runners Fare Well In Sidney
Wolf Point’s Rebel Mays ran to a third-place finish at the Sidney Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 12.
The senior finished with a time of 17:54.9. Sidney’s Carter Heggem placed first at 16:47.0.
Wolf Point’s eighth-grader Andrew Williamson took 38th place at 20:05.7. Reilly Rees was 41st at 20:13.9.
Kayeiko Villaluz, another eighth-grader, placed 53rd at 21:16.2. Ezekiel Payne finished 69th at 26:37.7.
In the girls’ division, Wolf Point’s Lakealah Mays placed 38th at 25:15.6.
Poplar’s boys placed second in the team standings with 72 points. Glendive won the meet with 46 points.
Poplar’s Eljin Grey Bear earned sixth place at 18:02.6. Right behind were teammates Wilder Bearcub in seventh at 18:09.7 and Issac Irizarry in eighth at 18:10.5.
Navarjo Escarcega placed 23rd at 19:09.3.
Stephen Smoker took 40th at 20:11.1. Trentin Youpee was 50th at 20:50.4.
Brockton’s Miles Boxer Jr. earned 15th place with a time of 18:54.6.
Joshua Firemoon placed 19th at 19:02.9. Daniel Segubiense finished 58th at 21:50.7.
Poplar’s girls captured third place in the team standings with 78 points. Glendive was first with 50 points and Glasgow was second with 70 points.
Poplar’s Journey Gourneau earned fourth place with a time of 21:08.1. Glasgow’s Tanae Baker was the winner at 19:31.0.
Mattie Falls Down took 16th place at 22:27.2. Amelia Weeks finished 17th at 22:27.8.
Kellyn Azure placed 20th at 22:54.5. Cammie Martell was 21st at 23:08.4.
Alara Cooper was 22nd at 23:09.2. Kelbee Redstone finished 39th at 25:22.0.
Brockton’s girls were seventh in the team standings with 158 points.
Brockton’s freshman Braelynn Demarrias finished 11th with a time of 21:49.7.
