Lady Wolves Stay Hot With League Victory Over Harlem
The Wolf Point volleyball team is getting on a roll at the right time of the season.
The Wolves posted their second straight conference victory by beating Harlem, 27-25, 25-21, 25-18, as part of Wolf Point’s homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 12.
In the first set, the Wolves moved ahead 24-21 on a block by Lauren Rodenberg and a pair of aces by Keeley Blount-Henderson.
Harlem, however, battled back for a 24-24 deadlock.
With the score even at 2525, the Wolves won the last two points to take the set.
Wolf Point fell behind early in the second set, but the Wolves were able to pull to 11-10 on kills by Blount-Henderson and Karmyn Plain Feather.
Trailing by a 17-11 margin, Wolf Point slowly came back on the net play of Kashlyn Speak Thunder. A block by Blount-Henderson and a kill by Speak Thunder tied the score at 18-18.
An ace by Plain Feather helped put Wolf Point ahead 20-18. Blount-Henderson scored two kills for a 22-19 advantage, and a block by Rodenberg put the margin at 23-20. With the score at 24-21, Wolf Point ended the set on a kill by Plain Feather.
Wolf Point jumped out to a 16-11 lead in the third game, but the Wildcats fought back to 16-14. Spikes by Speak Thunder and a kill by Blount-Henderson increased the gap to 21-16.
The serving of Blount-Henderson and another block by Rodenberg led the Wolves down the stretch for the 25-18 victory.
The Wolves will host Fairview on Friday, Oct. 18, and travel to Scobey on Saturday, Oct. 19.
