Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 124 calls from Oct. 7-14. The calls included the following: Oct. 8

Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance between a male and female in Culbertson. It was a verbal argument. There were no violations.

Oct. 9

Deputy/coroner responded to a report of a man who passed away at a house in Bainville. There wasn’t any foul play.

Deputies responded to the Poplar city limits to remove a female. Two females were in a physical altercation. One female alleged that she was choked. The report was forwarded to tribal prosecutors.

Oct. 10 Deputies responded to the Poplar city limits for a report of an adult man tasing people. The male said he didn’t tased anyone and that he has a taser to protect himself against dogs. Witnesses confirmed the man’s statement.

Oct. 11

Deputies responded to south of Bainville on Highway 27 after Burlington Northern advised that a train hit a white Ford on the tracks. No one was in the vehicle. An adult man said that he stopped the vehicle to relieve himself and thought he put the vehicle in neutral. The vehicle rolled down a hill and onto the tracks.

Deputies searched for a reported missing child after school in Culbertson. The girl was found playing with a friend.

Oct. 13

Deputies assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice with a report of a burglary in Wolf Point. Someone tried to break into a house. FPTDLJ arrested an adult male. He was transferred to tribal jail for burglary.

In addition, the RCSO had the following activity: Wolf Point city limits, six; Wolf Point rural, seven; Wolf Point FPHA, two; Poplar city limits, 13; Poplar FPHA, one; Poplar airport addition, two; Culbertson town, 21; Culbertson rural, nine; Bainville town, five; Bainville rural, 14; Froid rural, one; Froid town, eight; any other area, eight; Brockton town, six; Brockton rural, six; Fort Kipp, five, total, 124.
