Red Hawks Fall Short To Fusion
Eddie Orozco had a big day returning kickoffs for the Froid/Lake Red Hawks, but Richey/Lambert won by a 64-18 final in Richey on Saturday, Oct. 19. After the Fusion accounted for the game’s opening touchdown, Orozco returned the ensuing kickoff 70 yards for a touchdown with five minutes left in the first quarter.
The Fusion gained a 12-6 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Froid/Lake moved into scoring position on a 32yard pass play from Joseph Robertson to Trent Williams down to the Fusion 10. The Red Hawks, however, couldn’t score on the possession.
Richey/Lambert went on to earn a 26-6 half-time advantage.
Orozco, a sophomore, opened the second half by returning the kickoff from the Froid/Lake eight all the way down to the Fusion one. From there, Robertson scored to pull the Red Hawks to 26-12.
After the Fusion increased their lead to 42-12, Orozco returned a kickoff 75 yards for another touchdown with 4:22 left in the third quarter.
Richey/Lambert led 58-18 at the end of the third period and won by the 64-18 final.
