Colvin Building For Solid Future
Senior Profile
Culbertson High School senior Henry Colvin is seeing a near lifelong project becoming close to completion.
The Colvin family has been building a house near the bridge for about 15 years, Henry said.
“It’s been a project for most of my life. It’s a family ordeal,” Henry said. “I was a pretty little guy pouring foundation.”
Henry says the plan is to move into the house in mid-November, but some work will still be needed for completion.
Other hobbies for him have included mechanical projects, hunting and fishing.
In school, Colvin is involved with Business Professionals of America, FFA, student council and National Honor Society.
He noted this is his first year in Business Professionals of America, but because he plans to go into a finance career he felt that BPA would be great experience.
His favorite event in FFA is agriculture business management where he placed at the state meet last year. He plans to also compete in mechanics and sales this year.
Colvin serves as a senior class representative in student council and a two-year member in National Honor Society. He hopes to play drums for the pep band this winter.
His favorite classes are English and agriculture education. He also enjoys history and science.
He says his favorite teacher is Shelly Panasuk. “She’s really good at teaching,” Colvin said. “She knows the subject and is good at passing it down.”
Colvin has attended school in Culbertson all 12 years and likes living in the community.
“It’s small and everybody knows you,” he said of Culbertson.
After high school, Colvin plans to study something in the finance field probably at Montana State University in Bozeman.
