Culbertson School Board Meets
The Culbertson School Board met in regular session on Monday, Oct. 21, at 6:30 p.m.
Reports were presented. Cultivating Careers was well received at the new John Deere location with hopes that the event continues. An exit audit with OPI was conducted on final ESSER monies with no corrective actions. Policies 3630 and 2151-NF (1) were approved. Trustees held work a session to finalize board goals.
A motion was passed to approve sick leave bank contributions for 2024-25.
The board approved a fall driver’s education course and a student teacher in kindergarten, Sarah Helmuth, for the spring.
An indemnity bond was approved for replacement of lost claims to Sarpy’s Transportation in the amount of $8,706.70.
Hunter Krogedal was approved as activity bus driver for the 14-passen- ger transit van only, pending background check.
A high school graduation date of May 17 at 2 p.m. was approved.
A motion was approved for an increase in the food service milk price to $.50 per carton. The increase is due to rising cost of milk over the years and only applies when milk is purchased singly, apart from meals.
Extracurricular policy 7330F was discussed in regard to reverting high school stipends from a weekly rate to a flat rate. Additional weekly stipends apply to post-season play.
Stipend survey will be done with area schools. Amber Fox made motion to post Policy 7330F. Lisa Steppler seconded motion and the motion carried unanimously.
One bid was received for the 2005 MCI Cruiser from the Sidney Wrestling Club for $20,250. The bid was approved.
Minutes were approved for the Sept. 16 regular board meeting. October bills were approved, along with investments, note cash and extra- curricular balances. The next regular meeting is set for Nov. 19 at 6:30 p.m., with board training from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Patrick Bowlby and family members are honored during senior night for Culbertson’s football team on Friday, Oct. 25.
