Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriffs Office responded to 120 calls from Oct. 21-28.

The calls included the following: Oct. 21

Deputies responded to Froid for a report of hunters shooting within the city limits. Deputies located a hunter who admitted he was shooting at clay pigeons into an open brush area. He apologized and was given a warning.

Deputies attended a justice court hearing in Wolf Point. After an individual was sentenced, the deputy took him into custody and escorted him to jail.

Oct. 22

Deputies responded to a disturbance in Fort Kipp’s housing area. When deputies arrived, no one answered the door.

Deputies responded to a fight at T-Bird Auto Body in Poplar. Two males were reportedly fighting. One left the area in a vehicle. Deputies couldn’t locate him.

Deputies responded to Fort Kipp for a report of a male who has a federal warrant. Law enforcement checked the residence and a second residence with no luck.

Oct. 23

Deputies responded to Brockton for a report of two males fighting. One of the males was reportedly knocked out, and EMS was paged. An adult female said her sons were fighting. Both males fled the area.

A stalled vehicle was located near Tule Creek. Deputies found three people walking along the road. They said the vehicle overheated on the way to Wolf Point. Deputies dropped the individuals off at Town Pump at their request.

Oct. 24

Deputies and Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice responded to a domestic disturbance north of Poplar. An ambulance was called to transport one male to the hospital. Deputies and FPTDLJ conducted a joint investigation regarding the family argument. FPTDLJ charged an adult male and female with partner/family member assault, endangering the welfare of children and assault by strangling.

Deputies responded to a domestic dispute in Bainville. Michael Elkouz, 38, Bainville, was charged with partner/ family member assault and transported to the Roosevelt County jail.

Deputies responded to the Brockton School for a report of a threat by a parent. The incident is under investigation.

Deputies received a request from the Chrome Pool Hall in Poplar to remove a male from the premises where a birthday party was taking place.

Deputies responded to a call from the Buckhorn Bar in Poplar to remove an unwanted person. The male was passed out in front of the business.

Oct. 25 Deputies removed three people for trespassing at the Chrome Pool Hall in Poplar. They were taking food from a party.

Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Department with a fire call on Benton Street. The Wolf Point Fire Department extinguished the fire quickly.

Oct. 26

Deputies received a report of a stolen vehicle near the China City restaurant in Wolf Point. The male who called in the report then discovered that he had possession of the vehicle’s keys. Deputies found the vehicle parked near the Waterhole. The male was instructed to walk home.

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ with a complaint at the Legion Bar in Poplar regarding removing an unwanted individuals.

Oct. 27

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ regarding a theft of two six packs of beer from Town Pump in Wolf Point. FPTDLJ followed the vehicle into the parking lot of the Northstar Apartments. Law enforcement found the beer in the vehicle.

In addition, the RCSO had the following activity: Wolf Point city, 22; Wolf Point rural, three; Wolf Point, FPHA, three; Poplar city, 21; Poplar rural, 10; Poplar FPHA, eight; Culbertson town, seven; Culbertson rural, six; Bainville rural, 11; Bainville town, seven; Froid town, five; Brockton town, six; Brockton rural, three; Fort Kipp, eight; total, 120.
