Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 91 calls from Oct. 28-Nov. 3.

The calls included the following: Oct. 28

Deputies responded to a call regarding two females coming to a Fort Kipp residence and wanting to hurt people in the house. The argument regarded a dog that died. Deputies interviewed both parties and separated them.

Deputies assisted Williams County, N.D., law enforcement regarding a white Dodge pickup with North Dakota license plates that was being driven in a reckless matter. Law enforcement couldn’t located the vehicle. Deputies responded to a call from the Mint Bar in Froid that two individuals came into the bar, looking to assault another male.

Oct. 29

Deputies performed traffic control during a trailer house fire in Poplar’s city limits. The Poplar Fire Department responded to the call.

Deputies received a report from the Brockton store that an adult male grabbed four cans of beer and took off. Deputies couldn’t find the individual. A report was given to tribal court.

Oct. 30

Deputies responded to a two-vehicle collision in Froid. The Culbertson ambulance responded to the scene. Deputies investigated the crash.

Oct. 31

Deputies assisted at the scene on a two-vehicle crash on Montana Highway 25 near the turnoff to Wolf Point’s golf course. The Montana Highway Patrol led the investigation. Both parties received medical treatment.

Nov. 1

Deputies responded to Brockton’s city limits for a report of a male and female causing a disturbance. Law enforcement couldn’t located the female. No arrests were made.

Deputies assisted Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice in the search of a depressed male who was threatening to harm himself. The mother of the individual located him and took him to the emergency room.

Nov. 2

Deputies responded to U.S. Highway 2 near Culbertson for a report of a hay truck that dropped six bales on the road. Damaged was done to one vehicle’s windshield. The Montana Highway Patrol and Culbertson Fire Department also responded.

A deputy assisted three FPTDLJ officers of the report of a burglary in progress at a residence west of Poplar on U.S. Highway 2. Law enforcement saw a SUV parked in the field, about 100 yards from the residence. There were piles of random items stacked up near the vehicle. One male walked out of the residence and then ran back inside. Law enforcement found three adult males hiding in the house. They were transported to the tribal jail.

Nov. 3

Deputies responded to a report from a landowner saying a couple of men were trespassing. It was determined that it was a civil matter.

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ at the Dollar Store in Wolf Point. A juvenile male was taken to the juvenile detention center in Poplar.

In addition, the RCSO had the following activity: Wolf Point city, 12; Wolf Point rural, two; Poplar city, four; Poplar rural, 12; Poplar FPHA, two; Culbertson town, 14; Culbertson rural, seven; Bainville rural, four; Bainville town, one; Froid town, two; Froid rural, one; Brockton town, nine; Brockton rural, one; Fort Kipp, 16; Stateline Club, one; total, 91.
