Courtney Named Coach At Minot State
Wolf Point native Alex Courtney has been named Minot State head coach after serving as interim head coach for the previous nine months and as the Beavers’ top assistant prior to that as she joined the program in April of 2022.
She brings four years of experience coaching at Sentinel High School in Missoula, with her to Minot State. During her time with the Spartans as an assistant coach, she helped lead the program to a 58-26 record during three seasons, and to state tournament berths each of those years.
Courtney began her own collegiate career playing two seasons at Montana Tech, then graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in nutrition with a concentration in women’s health from Johnson & Wales University in Denver, Colo., where she played basketball and volleyball. She earned her masters degree from Montana State University.
A product of Wolf Point, where she was a three-sport student-athlete, Courtney was a three-time All-Conference and All-State performer in volleyball.
