Johnson Wins Champion Of Champions Honor
By Wendy Becker Roosevelt County Extension
When Lilly Johnson received grand champion round robin honors at the Roosevelt County Fair, she was able to go on and represent Roosevelt County in the Champion of Champions Round Robin Showmanship in Circle. This event is in its 22nd year and hosted by McCone County 4-H. The event is for senior division winners.
Representatives throughout the region compete for the chance to receive this honor, as well as a scholarship and jacket.
Johnson of Froid not only represented Roosevelt County well, but also received top honors as the Champion of Champions winner.
The round robin showmanship contest showcases their skills showing all animals such as beef, sheep, swine, goats, dairy, horse, alpaca and any other large animal. They also have to show a mystery animal and, this year, it was a duck.
