City Council Hears Water Billing Complaints
The Wolf Point City Council held its regular meeting Nov. 18. During the public comment period, members of the public spoke up about water billing issues. Clerk Jhona Peterson said each account would need to be looked at individually.
Mayor Chris Dschaak discussed rates requirements for various municipal funding sources.
“Unfortunately,” Dschaak said, “this is not the right time to discuss individual bills.” He offered to address the issues on an individual basis during business hours. One resident said, “I feel like I’m being brushed off.”
The proposal by Town Pump to purchase the Triangle Park property was discussed. The council told Town Pump manager Noreen Hohman that the relevant committee had yet to meet and offer recommendations.
The city’s lead pipe inventory was discussed, with Peterson explaining extended timelines for DEQ certification.
The Wolf Point Police Department submitted its monthly activity report, as did the public works director and legal counsel Montana Wilson.
A contract with Roosevelt County to provide JP/city judge assistance was approved in the amount of $17,047.
The council discussed potential pricing and income stipulations for housing projects on city owned lots. More information is being sought.
The next regular council meeting is set for Dec. 16.
