Froid Town Council Holds Meeting
The Froid Town Council held its regular meeting Nov. 11. The full council was present. Public works director Alan Engelke delivered his report. He said monthly bacteria water samples are not getting to Energy Labs in time due to a USPS issue. Council members expressed concern about expenses related to resending the samples.
Engelke also reported that the #1 lift station generator has had some issues but said he believes they are fixed at present. He added that some property owners have overgrown trees and shrubs that are starting to block the alley right of ways, making it difficult for garbage trucks and fire vehicles to get through.
Council discussed the deteriorating condition of some roads, as there have been some juveniles tearing around town on 4-wheelers.
Mayor Crain advised residents to continue to call the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office to report issues. Crain said she would discuss the matter with the legal counsel.
The town council discussed a deadline of Dec. 31 for sewer system spot repairs funded through HB355. Pace has not responded to clerk LeAnn Johnson, so the council is considering approving Engelke to do the work himself.
Raises are expected at the December meeting for the public works director and clerk positions. That meeting is set for Dec. 9.
