Senior Profile Salvevold Looks Forward To More Gridiron Highlights
Culbertson High School senior Bridger Salvevold loves football. You can see that by the hard way he plays and the enjoyment he displays after making an outstanding play.
He will continue his love after high school as Salvevold recently announced his commitment to play the sport at the University of Montana.
“I really like the program that they have built there,” Salvevold explained his decision. “They really made me feel welcomed.”
He is expecting to play linebacker for the Griz. His major will be business management.
“I like the in-state aspect of it,” he said of playing in Missoula.
His last high school football season was a memorable one as the Cowboys placed second in the conference and won a playoff game. A highlight was defeating Circle in a game to decide second place.
“It was disappointing with how it ended, obviously,” Salvevold said of the quarter-final round loss at Belt.
The All-State performer said it was a memorable football season of his career. “It was my best year being a leader and as far as performance,” he said. Salvevold is now looking forward to a solid basketball campaign. Goals include qualifying for the divisional tournament and winning games at divisional.
Other sports for him include track and golf.
He competes in the 100-meter dash, 200 and both relays for Culbertson’s track team. Because of a hamstring injury, his junior season was a struggle. He came close to placing at state as a sophomore.
“I want to podium this year in at least one event,” Salvevold said.
This will be Salvevold’s second year attempting the sport of golf. “I’m not very good at it, but I’m learning,” Salvevold laughed.
Along with sports, Salvevold participates in FFA where his favorite events are agronomy and sales. He especially enjoys agronomy. “It’s something I can relate to with my family being farmers,” Salvevold said.
His favorite class is business management. His favorite teacher is Shelly Panasuk.
Salvevold has attended school in Culbertson since kindergarten.
“I love the community. Everybody is super friendly,” Salvevold said. “It’s a real nice please to grew up in.”
