District Judge David Cybulski officially swore in Roosevelt County officials whose terms are starting in 2025 during a ceremony held in the county courthouse on Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Among the individuals sworn in were new county commissioner Douglas Marottek and new county attorney Thomas Bleicher.

At the start of the new year, Marottek will replace retiring commissioner Gary Macdonald. Marottek won the general election with 726 votes compared to Dean Mahlum’s 378 votes.

Bleicher, who is currently the deputy county attorney, won election to the county attorney position by defeating Ralph “Jim” Patch in the general election.

Also sworn in were Erika Fyfe as district court clerk and county superintendent of schools and Tracy Miranda as clerk and recorder and public administrator.

Fyfe ran unopposed and will lead the offices after Jeri Toavs resigned from the positions in July. Laurie Evans has been serving as interim clerk of court/county superintendent of schools.

Miranda was appointed by commissioners as the county’s new clerk and recorder last January after being recommended by retiring clerk and recorder Cheryl Hansen at that time. Miranda also ran unopposed.
