Cowgirls Lose At Home To Poplar
Poplar’s girls’ basketball squad took control in the middle two quarters to earn a 57-31 non-conference victory in Culbertson on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
The Indians jumped out to a 13-4 lead in the first quarter. Braelyn Nordwick scored five points in the period.
Poplar increased its advantage to 27-15 at the half. A pair of three-pointers by Bailey Dupree highlighted Poplar’s scoring. Payton Labatte scored seven points in the period for the Cowgirls.
The Indians added 14 more points in the third quarter for a 41-26 lead. Dupree accounted for three three-pointers and 11 points in the period.
Poplar’s top scorers in the contest were Dupree with 21, Nordwick with 13 and Cammie Martell with nine points.
Also scoring were Saydie Archambeault with six, Journey Gourneau with three, Ashlyn Bullchief with three, Miley Crawford with one and Mackenzie Crawford with one.
Labatte led Culbertson with 11 points. Ayden Ator and Emma Berwick added six points each for the Cowgirls. Having two points each were Kalia Featherston, Bella Petersen, Ivy Colvin and Stella Fox.
