Visit To Faith Home

The Wolf Point Junior Optimists spread some holiday cheer during a visit to Faith Home last week.

The students from Northside Elementary School helped create and color paper holiday ornaments with the resident of Faith Home.

“A lot of the residents like to color and visit,” Barbara Olson, advisor for the Junior Optimists, said.

She explained that the group likes to visit Faith Home each month during the school year to visit and provide ornaments for their rooms.

“The residents love it and the kids love it,” Olson said. “The kids pick their favorites, adults that they build relationships with.”

Having positive relationships from the different generations is a benefit for all parties. The students are in grades 4-6.

“For some of them, they are relatives,” Olson said. Olson notes that the school provides the transportation from Northside School to Faith Home.

She says that Wolf Point has one of the few Junior Optimists clubs in the region.

“The Optimist Club gives a lot of leeway for projects,” she added.

This marks Olson’s 14th year as the advisor for Wolf Point’s Junior Optimists.

Junior Optimists are sponsored by Optimist International Clubs and the Optimist International organization.
