Lustre Squads Down Manhattan
Lustre’s boys’ basketball squad rolled to a 70-37 non-conference win over Manhattan on Friday, Dec. 13.
The Lions jumped out to a 13-6 lead in the first quarter and scored 24 points in the second period for a 37-10 halftime advantage.
Lustre enjoyed a 57-27 lead after three quarters of play.
Lustre’s top scorers were Johnslee Pierre with 15, Byron Ewing with 12, Cam Reddig with 12 and Prestyn Klatt with 10 points. Also scoring were Diek Olfert with seven, Joel Reddig with five, Clay Reddig with four, Hadden Olfert with three and Nathan Fast with two.
Lustre’s girls posted a 4030 victory over the Manhattan Tigers on Friday, Dec. 13.
After holding an 11-7 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Lions struck for 15 points in the second period for a 26-16 half-time margin. Kencia Brown accounted for 11 points in the second quarter.
Manhattan cut the gap to 28-23 in the third quarter, but the Lions tallied 12 points in the fourth period for the victory. K. Brown scored six points in the fourth period.
K. Brown finished with 21 points to lead the Lions. Lauren Fast added seven points.
Also scoring were Lauryn Holzrichter with six, Sidney Klatt with two, Justice Byers with two and Hannah Brown with two points.
