Bulldogs Win Contest In Savage

Bainville’s girls’ basketball team remained undefeated with a 51-24 victory in Savage on Saturday, Dec. 21.

After holding a 21-9 halftime advantage, the Bulldogs controlled action during the second half of the road contest.

Savage opened the third quarter with two straight baskets by Aspen Peterson, but Bainville responded with the next nine points on a layup by Elsie Wilson off a pass from Hailey Berwick, a hoop by Tally Berwick, a free throw by H. Berwick and four more points by Wilson.

After Ava Jorgenson hit a shot for the Warriors, the Bulldogs struck for the final 10 points of the period. A three-pointer by Addison Hansen started the streak. A pair of free throws by Lila Butikofer put the margin at 35-15.

Baskets by Wilson and H. Berwick along with a free throw by T. Berwick gave the Bulldogs a 40-15 lead to end the period.

H. Berwick fired in a three-pointer for a 43-15 margin to open the fourth quarter.

Bainville’s top scorers were Wilson with 12, T. Berwick with 10 and Hansen with nine.

Also scoring were H. Berwick with eight, Chandi Johnson with six, Butikofer with four and Jodi Albus with two.

Leading Savage were KD Lyons with eight and Cambry Conradsen with seven points.

In the boys’ game, the Bulldogs couldn’t get their offensive attack going and lost by a 51-12 final.

The Warriors led 18-4 at the end of the first quarter behind the scoring of Hunter Sanders and Sayer Erickson.

Savage increased its lead to 27-8 at the half and held a 4312 lead at the end of the third quarter.

Leading the Warriors were Sanders with 16 and Erickson with 13 points.

Rowan Wilson scored six points for Bainville.
