Tigirlily Gold Crashes Karaoke Night In Culbertson
The Stagecoach in Culbertson played host to an impromptu performance by Tigirlily Gold’s Kendra and Krista Slaubaugh Dec. 23, along with a handful of lucky locals who joined in for karaoke and other singalong fun.
The duo hail from Hazen, N.D., and have family in the area.
“It was great,” Mary Machart told the Community News. ”It was like a Hallmark movie. People weren’t acting all star struck.”
Tigirlily had a banner year in the county music business. The duo were nominated for Breakthrough Female Video of the Year and Group/Duo Video of the Year at the 2024 CMT Music Awards and won New Duo or Group of the Year at this year’s Academy of Country Music awards.
Earlier in their career, Tigirlily performed a free concert at Bruegger Centennial Park and also showed up to sing at Culbertson High School. This year’s visit was hinted at on social media but wasn’t advertised. It started as a quiet dinner in the back of the restaurant and eventually led to the Slaubaughs participating in a planned karaoke night. Attendees included their mom Brenda and grandma Judy Waldhausen, as well as locals Alexi Bidegaray, Ashton Handy, Andy Nelson, Jackson Bolstad and members of the Colvin and Finnicum families, among others.
