Brockton Loses To Wildcats
Brockton’s girls’ basketball team put together a strong first half but lost against Plentywood by a 54-49 final on Friday, Jan. 3.
The Warriors gained a 15-13 lead in the first quarter and increased their advantage to 27-20 at the half.
Plentywood responded with 23 points in the third quarter to take a 43-35 lead and went on to win the conference contest. Reaching double figures for Brockton were Tamryn Bauer with 19 and Ava Lone Bear with 12 points.
Also scoring for the Warriors were Quintana Young with nine, Marlene Fish with five and Claire Clampitt with four points.
Leading Plentywood’s attack were Mallory Tommerup with 24, April McCabe with 12 and Jaimison Soderquist with 10 points.
In the boys’ game, Plentywood won by a 74-28 final.
The Wildcats jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter and held a 39-13 half-time lead.
Top scorers for Brockton were Jarid Fasthorse Jr. with 10 and Josh Firemoon with eight points. Adding two points each were Quannah First That Walks, Miles Boxer Jr., Ronnie Blackdog and Weston Lambert.
Landon Flickinger scored 15 points for Plentywood.
