Bulldogs Pick Up Victory Over Fusion

The Bainville Bulldogs bounced back with a solid second half for a 53-38 league victory over Richey/Lambert in girls’ basketball play on Friday, Jan. 3.

Bainville took a 10-7 lead in the first quarter but held only a 23-22 half-time advantage.

The Bulldogs then struck for 16 points in the third quarter for a 39-32 advantage.

Bainville added 14 more points in the fourth period for the 53-38 victory.

Hailey Berwick finished with 20 points to lead Bainville’s attack. Miah Pippenger added 14 points for the Bulldogs.

Also scoring were Elsie Wilson with six, Tally Berwick with four, Chandi Johnson with four, Lila Butikofer with two, Addison Hansen with two and Jodi Albus with one.

Keira Rains led the Fusion with 19 points. Brynne Hill scored nine points.

In the boys’ game, the Fusion came away with a 45-35 win.

The Bulldogs held an 18-17 half-time lead, but Richey/ Lambert scored 15 points in the third quarter for a 32-26 advantage. The Fusion outscored Bainville by a 13-9 margin in the fourth quarter.

Rowan Wilson led the Bulldogs with 17 points. Kaiden Holmes finished with seven and Isaiah Bjorge had five points.

Adding two points each were Carter Pacovsky, Parker Berwick and Reed Winn.

Reaching double figures for the Fusion were Quad Marshall with 17, Curtis Mullin with 11 and Beau Mullin with 10 points.
