Indians Defeat Red Hawks In Non-Conference Action

 

Poplar’s boys’ basketball team downed Froid/Lake by a 77-35 margin in Poplar on Friday, Jan. 3.

The Indians led by a 17-6 margin at the end of the first quarter. Kaniel Ricker accounted for 12 of Poplar’s points in the period.

Poplar outscored the Red Hawks, 21-13, in the second quarter for a 38-19 lead. Keilen Erickson scored nine points for the Indians in the quarter.

The Red Hawks hit five three-pointers during the first half including two each by Roberto Orozco and Rylan Young.

Top scorers for Poplar in the contest were Ricker with 20, Erickson with 15 and Wilder Bearcub with 10 points.

Also scoring for the Indians were Chasen Pribbernow with seven, Blake Lambert with six, Chance Pribbernow with five, Boston Azure with four, Dane Moran with three, Stephen Smoker with three, Jaizon Gambling with two and Walker Burshia with two.

Leading the Red Hawks were Young with 15 and Orozco with eight points. Cody Olson had four points. Aaron Orozco and Carson Kelm added three points each. Joseph Robertson had two points.
