Past Year Second Warmest On Record

According to the National Weather Service in Glasgow, 2024 will go down as the second warmest year on record for the area, with an average temperature of 46.9 degrees.

The highest temperature reached during the year was 109 degrees, set on July 24. The coldest was -37 set on Jan. 14. The records date back to 1893 and the formal testing period is 1991-2020.

Additionally, September was the warmest September on record, with an average temperature of 67.8 degrees, beating out 65.9 degrees set in 2022.

Twenty-two daily temperature records were tied or broken this year; 20 of those were warm records.
