Three Wolves Capture Titles

Wolf Point’s wrestlers took seventh place in the team standings with 114 points during a tournament in Columbus on Friday, Jan. 3, and Saturday, Jan. 4.

Jesse Reed and Mike Bell each earned titles in the boys’ division.

Reed won by technical fall, 15-0, over Red Lodge’s Gavin Dunlap in the title match at 160 pounds. Reed also won two other matches on technical falls. Bell pinned Roundup’s Colton Davis in 2:15 for the title at heavyweight. The senior also won matches on a pin and a technical fall.

Kayeiko Villaluz placed fourth at 103 pounds.

In the girls’ division, Annaleigh Matejovsky claimed the tournament championship at 125-135. She won two matches on technical falls and another on a major decision during the meet.

Aniya Smoker took third place at 100-110 pounds. Smoker won one match by pin and another by major decision.

Kailayla Villaluz placed fifth at 100-110 pounds.
