Bainville’s Robertus Shines In Football
Senior Profile
Bainville High School senior Trevor Robertus put together an impressive football season for the Bulldogs this fall even though it had a heart-breaking ending for him.
His play during the season earned him All-State honors in the six-man ranks.
“It’s my favorite sport,” Robertus said of football. He has played the sport for six years.
Highlights of the season included winning the conference championship.
A victory in Savage for its homecoming game was also a thrill. “It was the first time in a long time in Bainville’s history,” Robertus said.
During the season finale against MonDak, however, Robertus suffered a torn meniscus injury. Because of the knee injury, Robertus could only watch his teammates compete in a first-round playoff game.
“It was pretty sad after working all year to make the playoffs,” Robertus said.
He will get a chance to play a sixman football game again since he was recently selected for the sixman all-star football game scheduled for May 30 in Highwood. Robertus will play for the Blue team.
“I can’t wait for it,” Robertus said. “It’s pretty cool.”
He has been sidelined so far this basketball season, but he is optimistic he will hit the court in time for the district tournament.
In the classroom, his favorite class is history.
He doesn’t have one favorite teacher. “I like all the teachers really,” Robertus said.
After starting to attending school in Bainville during the sixth grade, he has found the community to be supportive and involved.
He is undecided which college to attend, but he is leaning to study finance courses.
