Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 8, began a number of bad weather days, with rain freezing to the gravel, as well as making slick highways. Monday brought a snow and Tuesday was foggy all day. The Dodson game was moved ahead to 4:30 p.m. in effort to beat the hazardous weather.
The Lustre boys won their games against Frazer and Bainville last weekend. The girls lost both of their matches. Frazer and Bainville are both taller teams. Final score was Bainville 45, Lustre 27. Starters for the girls’ team were Abby Olfert (captain), Kencia Brown, Grace Brown, Carter Fast and Lauren Holzrichter. Clay Reddig and Bryon Ewing are co-captains for the boys’ team. Prestyn Klatt, Cam Reddig and Jonslee Pierre finish out the starting line-up.
Arden Unrau of Enumclaw, formerly of Lustre, died Saturday morning, Jan. 4.
Lustre Christian High School and Lustre Grade School resumed Jan. 5 for the second semester. Student leaders are practicing with the pep band, in the absence of a music teacher, needed for both schools.
