Lustre Sweeps Dodson Teams
The Lustre Lions cruised to basketball victories in Dodson on Friday, Jan. 10.
In the girls’ game, Lustre posted a 60-17 win over the Coyotes.
The Lions jumped out to a 26-4 lead in the first quarter and held a 35-6 half-time advantage.
Lustre outscored Dodson by a 15-0 margin in the third quarter for a 50-6 margin.
Top scorers for the Lions were Kencia Brown with 16 and Hannah Brown with 15 points. Samantha Neufeld finished with 13 points.
Also scoring were Ashtyn Traeholt with seven, Lauryn Holzrichter with five, Abby Olfert with two and Jaden Gibson with two points.
Tissie Webb scored seven points for Dodson.
Lustre’s boys earned a 9333 victory.
The Lions ran out to a 26-5 lead in the first quarter and then exploded for 24 points in the second period for a 5013 margin.
Lustre scored 29 points compared to Dodson’s 10 in the third quarter.
Reaching double figures for the Lions were Cam Reddig with 19, Joel Reddig with 13, Johnslee Pierre with 11, Byron Ewing with 11 and Prestyn Klatt with 10.
Also scoring were Hadden Olfert with eight, Diek Olfert with eight, Chris Traeholt with six, Kayden Charette with five and Wheeler Damboise with two. Junior Stiffarm led Dodson with 17 points.
