Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 69 calls from Jan. 6-13.

The calls included: Jan. 6

Deputies responded to U.S. Highway 2 near Poplar to remove debris including tree branches from the road.

Jan. 7

Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Police Department and Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice regarding a stolen vehicle in the Wolf Point city limits. Deputies helped locate the vehicle which had been abandoned. The owner was notified.

Jan. 8

Deputies responded to the Poplar airport addition for a complaint from an adult male that an adult female was too intoxicated. When deputies responded, both the female and reporting male were intoxicated. The male volunteered to leave the residence.

A female in Wolf Point called in to report a stolen iPad. She provided a description of where the iPad could be found.

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ at tribal housing in Poplar for a report of a stabbing and aggravated assault near the east end water tower. An ambulance transported a female to the hospital. FPTDLJ arrested an adult female and took her to tribal adult jail.

Jan. 9

A female called to report that her daughter and her daughter’s boyfriend were fighting, both verbally and physically, in the front of her house. Deputies went to the residence. No arrests were made.

Deputies assisted the sheriff office of Williams County, N.D., regarding an adult male, who had a work truck slip and fall on him. A trooper and Culbertson ambulance service also responded. He was taken to the hospital in Culbertson.

Deputies responded to Bainville for an adult female who said a male was harassing her. Deputies took her statement.

Deputies responded to the Poplar airport addition for an adult male causing a disturbance. The parties agreed to separate.

Jan. 10

Deputies responded to the Welcome Stop in Bainville for a medical call regarding a female needing assistance. Her family ended up taking her to the emergency room in Culbertson.

A female in Poplar reported that someone stole her phone on Jan. 3. She said an adult male came to her house and apparently left with her phone.

Jan. 11

Deputies were dispatched for Highway 405 and County Road 1017 for a vehicle in the ditch. The vehicle had Minnesota license plates. No one was in the vehicle.

Deputies responded to a report of a fight involving juvenile after the basketball games in Culbertson. The incident is still under investigation.

Jan. 12

Roosevelt County received a call from the Richland County Sheriff’s Office because two Wolf Point females needed a ride back home. The Richland County officials met deputies at the deputies to bring the females to Wolf Point.

Jan. 13

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ regarding an argument in the Poplar clinic.

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report activity statistics for the past week were: Wolf Point city limits, two; Wolf Point rural, two; Poplar city limits, eight; Poplar rural, six; Poplar FPHA Airport Addition, six; Culbertson town, nine; Culbertson rural, 14; Bainville town, seven; Bainville rural, nine; Froid rural, three; Brockton rural, five; Fort Kipp, three; any other area, three; total, 69.
