Wolf Point Senior Enjoys Bronc Riding

One of Wolf Point High School senior Joclynn Williams’ best friends is called “Rusty.” The 5-year-old gelding was given to her as a Christmas present in 2023.

“You can call him whatever you want and he comes to you,” Williams explained of her favorite horse. “He’s very nosy.”

Williams’ favorite activity is ranch bronc riding at rodeos.

“It’s fun,” she said. “Not a lot of girls do it.”

She has competed in both Poplar and Dickinson, N.D. A highlight has been tying for first place during a rodeo in Poplar.

She has also participated in barrel racing events.

Williams and her father, Thomas Bauer, take care of five horses.

After high school, she plans to continue being a rodeo participant with the goal of earning her pro card.

She says her favorite class at the high school is art. She especially likes painting.

Her favorite teacher is Steven Schwartz. “He helps where ever is needed, not just the class he teaches,” Williams said.
