Area school officials report that enrollment remains steady compared to the prior year. Wolf Point’s enrollment decreased from 726 to 685. Poplar’s enrollment increased from 831 to 834.
Ornaments or rocks featuring Uncle Santa of Wolf Point were located in each of the 50 states in the nation.

The Wolf Point Food Pantry reduced its hours to 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month due to lack of volunteers.

A group of Fort Peck tribal members expressed their frustration with the current Tribal Executive Board during a meeting held in Poplar. One speaker said there needs to be more accountability and respect.
Local pastors Greg and Christine Holler-Dinsmore continued to recover after the bicyclists were struck by a vehicle on Aug. 4.
A public meeting was held to discuss a proposal by Town Pump to purchase Triangle Park from the City of Wolf Point. Town Pump’s proposal includes paying the city $20,000 for the property.
The Bob and Jeanne Appelgren Activities Center was dedicated at Faith Lutheran Home. Endowments from the Appelgren family and Western Bank Legacy made the approximate $100,000 project possible.
District Judge Yvonne Laird denied the request for a preliminary injunction on Oct. 24, in the case regarding satellite offices for Native Americans voting in Roosevelt and Valley counties.

Roosevelt County commissioners approved a motion of intent to donate two properties to the City of Wolf Point. Area winners in the general election include Douglas Marottek as commissioner, Thomas Bleicher as attorney, Benjamin Folstad as district judge, Frank Smith for House District 31, Jonathan Windy Boy for Senate District 16, Erika Fyfe for clerk of district clerk/county superintendent of schools and Tracy Miranda for clerk and recorder.
Mayor Chris Dschaak reports that the city now has increased its number of police officers to four. “We’re a whole lot closer,” Dschaak said of being fully staffed.
The Wolf Point School Board discussed building options for the elementary schools including demolishing South Side School and building a new preK-fifth grade school. Cost of the option is estimated to be about $60 million.
Robert Manning was appointed to serve as a new trustee for the Wolf Point School Board.
The Fort Peck Tribes’ Office of Environmental Protection reports that it keeps expanding its recycling efforts on the reservation. A trailer has been ordered and it is being built for a new Wolf Point Recycling Center.
December Serving on the government review board in Poplar are presiding officer Keith Erickson, vice presiding officer Greg Norgaard and Darrell Werner.
The Wolf Point School Board approved a memorandum of understanding regarding the Catalyze Challenge Grant. Since 2021, Catalyze has awarded more than $14 million to more than 60 organizations through national and regional challenges, with a positive impact on more than 65,000 learners.
Wolf Point residents celebrated the holidays with a great weather night for the Christmas Stroll.
Two new homes arrived in the community thanks to the work of the City of Wolf Point and the Great Northern Development Corp. Funds came from a grant from the Montana Department of Commerce through the assistance of GNDC.
The Wolf Point Junior Optimists spread some holiday cheer during a visit to Faith Home. The students from Northside Elementary School helped create and color paper holiday ornaments with the resident of Faith Home.
