Red Hawks Lose Against Fusion
The Froid/Lake Red Hawks fell in two home basketball games against Richey/Lambert on Friday, Jan. 17.
In the girls’ game, the Red Hawks couldn’t completely bounce back from a tough second quarter and lost by a 69-63 final.
Froid/Lake led 15-10 at the end of the opening quarter, but the Fusion took a 37-27 half-time lead.
The Red Hawks pulled to 46-45 during the third quarter. The Fusion started well in the fourth quarter and outscored the Red Hawks, 23-18, in the fourth period.
Top scorers for Froid/Lake were Mara Salvevold with 19, Brooklyn Nordwick with 16 and Isabelle Nordwick with 16.
Addison Elvsaas hit three three-pointers for nine points. Keira Stentoft had three points.
Leading the Fusion’s attack were Keira Rains with 19, Tayen Carda with 14, Brooke Lien with 13 and Jolee Klempel with 11 points.
In the boys’ game, Richey/ Lambert won by a 50-17 margin. The Fusion led 10-0 at the end of the first quarter and 21-8 at intermission.
Richey/Lambert struck for 23 points in the third quarter for a 44-11 advantage.
Rylan Young scored six points for the Red Hawks. Aaron Orozco had three points. Adding two points each were Roberto Orozco, Cody Olson, Joseph Robertson and Teagan Fossum.
Top scorers for the Fusion were Beau Mullin with 17 and Curtis Mullin with 11 points.
